Painter sues Belichick firm over Nantucket fall injuries

A painter filed a negligence lawsuit Thursday against a company managed by North Carolina Tar Heels football coach Bill Belichick, alleging unsafe conditions at Belichick's Nantucket home caused a severe ankle injury in June 2024. Andrew Jackson sued Forty Five Fair Street LLC in Nantucket Superior Court, claiming a fall resulted from poor construction practices. He seeks nearly $300,000 in damages after receiving workers' compensation benefits.

The complaint states the LLC failed to maintain a safe work area, inspect premises adequately, remedy hazards and warn of dangers. Jackson, who worked at the property, suffered pain, disability, medical expenses and lost wages from the right ankle injury. Belichick purchased the Nantucket home for $4.8 million earlier in 2024.

Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl-winning coach during 24 seasons with the New England Patriots, took over as UNC head coach ahead of the 2025 season. Representatives for Belichick did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
